Thanks for sharing. You're right that these are seldom seen. People generally only see the low-end stuff from H-I and equate that company with low-quality products. The "Cunningham" was H-I's highest grade in the decade leading up to WWII, selling for a hefty $30.00 in 1932 and $36.00 in 1940. The "Registered" series after the war were also very high-quality rods. H-I gets a bad rap, more often than not.
