I have an 8"-0" H-I Queen- (not Tonka and not 7'-9")- 2/2, 4-3/8 oz, drawn NS ferrules (13/64), full color leaping trout (100%), swelled butt, wrapped very pale yellow tipped dark brown. Reel seat is down locking black plastic screw lock, semi half wells grip- Original bag has fragments of what appears to be an early H-I label-
Neither Michaels book or Banjo's (2011) historic listings of H-I show such a rod...
Does anyone know the origin and date for when this rod was made and how many might have been made?
Thanks for any help-
Chuck

#2Ive heard of the queen before, it was produced before the Tonka series. Its suppose to be a good caster.

#3Probably made just before the war. Could even be a trade rod if "Queen" is the only thing on the rod shaft. If it also has H-I decal(s), then it's a regular model. Only the "Princess" shows up in my 1940 catalog so, if indeed yours is a regular H-I model, it could be from 1941-1942.
