George A. Clark hired him to work in his variety store on 50 Genessee Street. There was also a J.H. England in the store from 1881-1891.The Utica directory lists it as a variety store until 1896 when they are listed as sellers of bicycles and fishing tackle. I'll continue adding as time allows.
Clark also owned a glove factory beginning in 1881.

1897 Edward Ibbotson joined and it began a formal name change from George A. Clark Co. to:

Notice Clark's name absent in 1908. He died in March of that year.
