A. Nolan bamboo rod

Post by bobsbars »

I was shown a bamboo rod with an A. Nolan signature plus a designation of 805-3 with a No. D0592 also noted. It looks brand new and obviously hasn't been used. It has the tube, a sock and a spare tip. All components have the number designation of D0592 on them. Any help in what this rod is worth would be greatly appreciated.

This old thread is pretty much accurate and can provide some info:

I knew Allen - he showed up for a few years at the College Park show in MD. He was out in western MD near Deep Creek Lake. He was hot and heavy for a few years and then just faded out of the picture. I heard his shop was flooded or something like that.

Thanx so much for the quick response. Based on the information in the link it looks like the rod would have cost $1435 with all the bells and whistle offered and I'm not certain about the collect ability and definitely no warranty or repairability by Mr. Noland. The gentleman was asking $1400. Any thoughts on what it's worth on the market?

Regards, Bob
