H-I RIVERMASTER

#1

Post by olddog100 »

anyone know about the h-i rivermaster? has the red h-i logo with rivermaster in white. this rod has two set-ups. one is a three piece slender set-up while the other is a two piece much larger diameter. this is made possible because it has two different size end pieces that adds up to four pieces all told. this rod belonged to my great uncle who died in the 1940's. any info would be greatly appreciated as i have not found any reference to the rivermaster.
thanks for your consideration

It's going to be very similar to this Ward's M27, which is also the H-I Black River

this one is missing the step-down ferrule, which allows you to make a short rod, but the idea is a single rod that makes 4 configurations, long or short, fly rod or bait
This particular rod, though heavy, fishes very well as a 5-wt. This rod dates to the early 50s, sounds like you have an older version of the same idea.
