2019 Bozeman Bamboo Gathering - Save the Date
Re: 2019 Bozeman Bamboo Gathering - Save the Date
#41Sorry that I missed the event, as I planned to attend, and take the zig-zag route back home through Yellowstone. It would have been nice to visit with everyone, and put some faces to names. Unexpected events resulted in the cancellation of the whole trip! We will put on the Calendar for next year. DAN

#42I wish I could have made it to the event but a severe cold and pneumonia have restricted my movement for the last 3 weeks. Next year for sure.

Re: 2019 Bozeman Bamboo Gathering - Save the Date
#44Was this Powell 4wt a semi-hollow or solid built rod? One of the nicest 8’ Powells I’ve cast was a solid built.snorider wrote:Yep, I was trying to avoid dropping names. Jack seems like a genuinely nice guy and man that 8' 4wt was just amazing. Effortless, smooth, beautiful, I could heap on more adjectives here. The nicest casting rod at this years rodeo IMO. I asked for a website, I asked for a business card, but he doesn't sell em. Now I can add another item to the improbable list along with my 1955 300sl and a 6' Payne...

#47Dennis, hope you are on the mend, you and your menagerie of fine cane were missed.
16PMD 8'6"? how is that possible I don't like rods over 8'! I would have bet money it was an 8' rod, regardless oh man was that rod sweet! Funny that two of my favorites this year were a 8'6" 4wt and a 9'6" 9wt. That Yerxa 9wt looked just like a Powell and I was shocked when I looked down and saw backing in the guides, after what seemed like just a couple gentle casting strokes! What fun can't wait for next year!

Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it. T.R.

#48Bud,
I'm doing better. Just didn't want to risk it. Thanks for asking.
