Santa Rosa, CA vintage tackle & decoy show 13-14 March 2020
#1I’ll be there as usual with plenty of Powell rods on offer. This is a great show. Come take a look - make sure you come say hi. My table is on the wall somewhat close to the stage to the left as you enter...I’ll have the old Powell banner hanging up.
Some big names in the vintage bamboo game will be there like Ward Tonsfeldt and Jim Adams. Come get your copy of Fiberglass Fly Rods autographed -Vic Johnson is usually there with a table set up.

#4Dennis and Mark - what are your thoughts on how this virus hysteria is going to impact the show?
Re: Santa Rosa, CA vintage tackle & decoy show 13-14 March 2
#5I'm not sure how this current hysteria will affect the show. As you know, it seems like most of the attendees are old-timers like myself and our demographic is supposedly more at serious risk to the virus. But, that same demographic has seen it's share of pandemics come and go and isn't as caught up in the media frenzy that is causing much of the hysteria, IMO. On the other hand, many like myself are retired and have investments in the stock market, which as we all know has sh** the bed the last couple weeks. It might make many think twice about dumping more money into vintage tackle at this particular time. I think my current eBay sales have suffered as a result, but that's more of a guess than anything else. There's no way to know for sure. In the end, it's the largest West coast show going and I wouldn't miss it for the world. Hopefully, others will feel the same way. I guess we'll see Friday. We're probably lucky Red wasn't forced to cancel the damn thing.

#6Thanks Mark. I shot Red an email this morning to check in. I’m getting ready to hop on a flight from SD this morning and was just trying to get a feel for it. I’ll be honest - I shifted my shipped inventory more towards the less expensive graphite Powell and some glass (Powell and non Powell) and away from cane for just that reason. I’d rather not mail rods around that aren’t going to sell.

#7Rich and Mark,
Sorry to say I can’t make it. Tweaked my knee last Wednesday and I can’t walk without assistance. Have a great time and see you next year.

#8Well Crap Dennis. Take care of that knee. Jim Clarkson and Ward are both taking a year off as well - too much other stuff going on. Art and Jim Adams will be there on tube spotting corner though. I’ll let you know how it goes!

So, I guess that leaves Terry in charge of reel sales at Santa Rosa ?
Dean.

#17The county pulled the plug on the show about an hour ago. So don’t show up tomorrow. It’s over.
