Orvis unsanded help please

#1

Post by ricky277d »

I've searched all over, made phone calls and no one could help me so far but I'm hoping someone here can. I have a orvis unsanded I got as a gift, it measures a little over 8 foot (8 '3") it has no info labeled on it and I'm really curious of what weight it actually is, it was stamped with an R on the cork when I received it any help is much appreciated thank you.

You most likely have an Orvis "All Rounder" fly rod.

8ft 3in for a 7wt line.
The "R" on the cork means that it was "refurbished" or "reconditioned" at Orvis.

This website is aimed at bamboo fly rods and other, similar websites are likely a better source of information for graphite or fiberglass fly rods.

Thank you and sorry I tried elsewhere I just couldn't get an answer, I tried 5 and 6 weight line and still have trouble casting so that could be the issue, I thought 7wt had a different handle on it
