That's the first puloma fly lathe I've seen besides the one one my bench. I got it from the maker I think, on Martha's Vineyard maybe twenty years ago. Just had to say. Nice streamer by the way.

I spoke with Brewster Newton about a year ago and he had some great stories… he still lives in Upton.
The Pamola Fly Lathe was a jewel for my "relevant" collection… though few and far between, I like it!

and then there's the more polished "bling" version…
'slight jaw variation but basically the same…
almost...

trying to capture the detail in Faruk's DamaSeal was a challenge…
Damascus is always a visual experience… and form follows function...

the same idea but by moving the spot of exposure, the blue backdrop can be darkened...

I had the opportunity and pleasure to spend some quality time with Jay Smit [Jvise] and Faruk Ekich [Ultimate Bobbin & DamaSeal Vise]…
'got to pick up Jay at JFK Terminal 4 and we did the Fly Tying Symposium @ Somerset NJ…
an early get-up Monday to bring him back to the International Departure gate and then meander back to Kape Kodistan…
It was a really nice weekend and I got to enjoy some outstanding company…
here's my Jvise #510 KnuckleHead w/Damascus Jawz…

Very nice. I've become intrigued by fly photography since I've become addicted to Andy Baird's stunning fly photography on his blog. Google "Small Fly Funk Blogspot" and you'll see what I mean.

I have one of these:

Learning how to use it, and all the peripheral software that goes with super-macro focus stacking is a big lift. But it's also a fun hobby.

Trout cannot resist all that fluff sitting so high on the water - its food!
