Sage 505

Does anyone know if the Sage 505 and 505L spools are interchangeable? Also, The drag on
my 505 does not appear to be working. Tightening the check moves the mechanism but
doesn't appear to tighten drag?

Thank you for reading.

Yes, they are interchangable...or at least the 506 and 506L are, so I have to believe that the 505 size are as well. Sounds like you need a replacement spring.

Cheers,
Joe

The drag tension is subtle, unlike an Abel or even a Peerless.

Need any work done on the reel, Send it to Archuleta Reel Works in Grants Pass, Or. Only person around I would trust to do work on older reels. He also makes and sells the nut cap covers that always get lost on the side pate of the reel at $5 each.

Keep meaning to order these myself, as I have a bunch of these reels with the caps missing.
