Fly reels from an old relative.
#1So I recently received a list of fly reels that a relative is selling/giving to family. I have a choice of 2 but I don’t know much about these brands. Looking for some help. I’d like to use it for salmon/steelhead and one for trout in local rivers. If there are rare or expensive reels I’d also take them to hold onto for my kids.

#11Wow!
That's a lot of reels to choose from.
Lots of nice stuff.

Re: Fly reels from an old relative.
#12So I chose the saracione 3 1/4” and I can’t wait to use it.
The remaining reels I was told are going up for auction at Lang’s auction.
I was also told that there are reels that date back to as far as 1860 in this collection.
Best of luck to anyone who bids on them.
Thanks for all the advise I received through this forum. Much appreciated.

#13Older fly fishers never die and fade from memory as their tackle collections are redistributed among appreciative fellow anglers. You will be honouring this gent while fishing with his Saracione. What was his name as many of us may have known him?My grandfather and flyfishing mentor, died over 50 years ago but I still fish with him when I use his cane 13 foot Vom Hofe Canadian Canoe rod and Celebrated Grilse and Salmon Restigouche reel.
