#22The new Hardy Marquis LWT looks promising and made in Alnwick again.

#23That first Leland reel looks a lot like the Fishon/Caps reels that were offered a few years ago.

#25Recently I've become infatuated with the Hardy Bougle' in the smaller sizes. I have a 3.25" version on my Scott 7'10" 5 wt Bamboo Rod. I also use an original model Ross Gunnison 1 on it.

#26It took some time to put together the above setup.
A Bogdan Baby Trout with a 6’0” Todd Young Smidgen. While the rod is light, as with any bamboo, it needs some balance. The Bogdan not only adds the balance, but significant history to the match. And together, they fish beautifully.

#28The older (solid-faced) Abel reels also work well with bamboo, as the added weight of the face helps balance everything out. And the Abel cork drag can stop a train. I use an Abel #1 on a Young 7'-6" Perfectionist (4 wt) and took a 9# Atlantic Salmon on a #6 brown bomber with it. Can't say enough about any of the Abel's.

#29I really like the look of the Hardy Golden Sovereign on bamboo, I've not had one but I do plan to get one eventually.

#30I don't care what anybody sez, I like my Charlton. It is pure quality. I was using a cheap but nice looking reel last year in Alaska. Fishing for silvers but snagged a dog. He headed or the saltwater and froze the arbor. Wish I could afford a Charlton for salmon fishing.

#34Take a look at the R. C. Alexander reels. They are lovely to use and lovely to behold.

#36Shakespeare International magnesium reels are beautiful.
I have several available, as well as Abel CFOs and more.

#37How about the reissued Hardy Perfect with the 1912 check and a red agate…

#40Newer design features with classic appearance make me enjoy the Adams reel. Vlad Reshenko's Trutta Perfetta is a performing beauty too! When it comes to Abel's, I prefer the earlier TR's.
