Hello,
Anyone have any experience with a Dickerson 3/2, 71/2' for 5 wt? Any idea of the value of an original if it has been restored by a very able Rodmaker?

#2A lot will depend on the actual restoration done Jim. A lot of rods are listed as restored but technically should be listed as refinished. A refinish puts the rod in fishing condition but doesn't follow the scheme used by the original maker, i.e. snakes may have been replaced with modern style, wraps not original, or close, in coloration, same thing applies to the tipping. If restored it's important to know how much restoration was done, i.e. were the ferrule reset, the original varnish polished and a protective overcoat applied, were any of the wraps replaced, was the grip sanded, repaired or replaced?
As one would expect condition is the barometer here, an original with bag and tube in 100% original condition will fetch $5k and up and one refinished with lots of work might be half that. I know that probably isn't a great answer but not knowing the whole story it's a crap shoot.
Regards..............

#3The rod was found in a bag full of lures and "was somehow glued" to its bag. The bag had to be cut off. Then the rodmaker refinished it. I believe he did replace one or two wraps. All pieces are straight, of the correct length and all hardware is original. Did not sand the handle.

#5Without seeing the rod it would be tough to give a fair value but my gut says in the $3000 range

#6Although not a Dickerson original, I do have one built by Lew Parks.
A very versatile rod and easy to cast.
I asked Lew to build me an extra 3rd tip with a lighter action so I can use it with a 4 weight line.
