New Link for PostImage image posting
#1Thanks to the kind heads up from Springcreek, I've loaded a plugin that makes it easier to load images from the PostImage hosting service. You'll notice the link at the bottom of either the New Topic body box or at the bottom of the Reply box.
I don't have any images on PostImage, so for those folks who do, please play around with it and let us know how well (or not so well ) it works.

#2Doesn't look like you need an account. They load as a thumbnail and expand in postimages when selected. It does save the step of having to upload them to a third party first.

#9Neat short cut. For those who have been having trouble posting full sized pictures from Postimg, rather than thumbnails, try this.
Select a picture from your Postimg gallery and click it to enlarge it. Then click the "share" icon above the enlarged picture. That will give you a drop down menu with several options. Copy the url found in the "Direct link" option. Paste that copied url between the brackets that appear here after you've clicked on this sites 'Img" icon.

#10Or when you click share on the enlarged image from your uploaded gallery, choose "hotlink to forum" by clicking on it and it automatically copies the link. Then simply paste here without using this sites "Img" icon at all.
I think the thumbnail option is a great alternative when you are in a hurry or don't need higher resolution to get your point across in a post.
Here's the size image you get when you do it as I just described.

#16Thanks titelines and springcreek. I just found this and thought I was the only one but got pointed over to this thread and now I know what's happening. I don't mind the thumbnails at all since a quick click blows them up, then hitting back puts you right back on site. Photobucket, you are so yesterday.

#17Wow, even able to post images from iCloud. Impressive work Mark and this IS the best way to do this (link to photo sight from within forum). Wonder if they'd help with wrong66's rebuild of the Heddon library? Now just get rid of PB link in full editor lol

#19Well, almost right. The "Ode to George" thread is still full of "Photobucket upgrade"icons instead of many years worth of beautiful pictures. So many great legacy threads are ruined. Many of the original posters on those devastated threads are now gone and will never go back to update their photos.
I guess it's like having survived a fire. You just have to start over. I think we all have learned that "the internet is definitely not forever".
Thanks to all who have pointed us to new photo options.
