New Link for PostImage image posting
Re: New Link for PostImage image posting
#22I think the nice thing about it, besides the ease of getting an image in the post, is the smaller image. The page loads a lot faster than with the full size images, and if I'm interested in seeing more detail it's easy enough to click on the photo and get the full sized one.

#27It's not supported on all the different forum software. phpBB (Our forum software) just happens to be included in their list.dave potts wrote:Well, I gotta to give it a try too to see for myself (I'm from Missouri). If it's this simple wonder why other forums don't use it.

#31Not quite sure what you mean here. The link only posts the photo in the way it was received, via a thumbnail to the forum and if you wish to see the full size image, you click on the thumbnail. If your photo is in the incorrect orientation, then it's a problem with the original photo. PostImage will only display what it gets.middlecalf wrote:Mark - How do I make vertical images vertical using the quick link?

#32The image in the post is only a thumbnail. If you want to see the full size photo you need to click on the thumbnail. As I mentioned in an earlier post, this does allow the page to load faster since the image is much smaller, and if anyone is interested in seeing more detail all they have to do is click on the thumbnail and the original full size image will then show.jhcoffeebum wrote:Is there a way of sizing pictures larger?

#33Well done Mark and everyone else who's been involved. The photobucket kerfluffle has actually resulted in something better for all of us.

#36Well I'm struggling with my vertical images. These have been posted before via PB and they're in the proper format on my computer as well as in other imaging software. Can't figure our why they're ending up non-vertical. If I go through postimage directly there's the ability to rotate the figure but even after I do that and get the copied link for posting into this forum it posts like below. Dang.

#39Flykuni, I posted that on the first page, but I'll try to make it a little more clear. This is a slightly more complicated way to post than the link Mark provided for us.
Join PostImage and create an account. It's free, at least for now.
Upload your photos to Postimage that you want from your photo library on your computer. This will allow larger photos to be posted here.
Once you have a gallery on the Postimage site, then click on the individual photo you want to use. The photo will enlarge.
Click on the "share" option.
Then click on the "hotlinks to forums" option this will automatically copy the link.
Simply click anywhere in your post and paste.
Your photo should appear in a larger version.

Re: New Link for PostImage image posting
#40What a total bummer that Photobucket decided we can no longer post photos here without paying a lot of money.. Not to mention all the pictures on the forum that will probably be lost forever unless everyone tries to recreate every pic they posted... I cant see that happen..
Moving on.. isnt there a safer way than to rely on something that will problaby go the same route as PB when they realize that they can earn more money if they start to charge the free accounts...?
