Hank Pennington aka Brown Bear has passed
#1Just heard from Kodiak that Hank Pennington, Brown Bear on this forum, died suddenly 2 days ago.
Hank was a great angler, great angling writer, resident guru of Kodiak, and one of the most prolific forum posters ever, who never tired of sharing his vast knowledge and experience.
I’m sure I am not alone here in having directly benefited from his sage advice and the pleasure of his company. He will be sadly missed.
If you happen to be on Kodiak, there will be a celebration of Hank’s life on Wednesday 7 August at The Convention Centre in town, from 3 to 6 pm. People will be telling stories, sharing photographs and raising toasts.

#9So unexpected and sad to hear this. It sounds like Hank lived his life to the fullest and enjoyed a tremendous bond with his wife and the outdoors. I am a bit in shock he is gone so suddenly, he had just contributed here a couple days ago.
