In Memoriam - Ric Leverick (paxlev)

#1

Post by cutthroattroutnm »

We've lost a few great members of the community over the past year, Ric being among the top shelf of those. I thought I'd post some photos of happier times, when Ric was in his element, on the water. A service for Ric will be held in Albuquerque on January 10. If anyone is around these parts that day and would like to go, please PM me and I'll give the details.

One last time - adios Ric - friend, gentleman, fly fisherman

Thanks for sharing the memories Mike. It’s a tremendous loss that Ric is gone, and I know how tough it must be for you more than most, as you were such close friends. I will fish a cutthroat stream in Alberta this year and be thinking of him and how much he loved our sport and cane rods.

That would be a most fitting memorial to him. He’ll be at your side in spirit.

I'll catch a few for Rick in the CB area this fall ... I am sure he visited there with you often.

There were a couple of runs on water that I have special access to that he really enjoyed. The CB Boys that knew him well will toast him with a fine single malt, and then catch a few good ones on that favorite water, in his honor. He’ll be missed, but never forgotten.

Thanks for posting. You can see his love of fishing in the photos. I had many conversations with Ric regarding rods and rod makers which I will miss. I was supposed to meet him for dinner earlier this year when visiting ABQ, but the airlines had other plans. I am sorry we did not get a chance to meet.
