Getting our forum back to the old look and feel

#1

Post by Titelines »

Over the next few days, the web developer that's helping me out here and I will be testing out the changes he made to the old style so that it works with the updated forum software.

We're going to do this on an incremental basis, updating a page or two at a time, and testing to see how it interacts with the forum software.

You'll probably see the forum bounce back and forth from this style that we're currently using to pieces of the old style.

One we're sure the pages are all working to our satisfaction, we'll cut over full time to our old look and feel.

There may, and probably will be glitches we'll need to fix once we cut over to the old look and feel, but those should pretty much be forum software related and we'll get those fixed on a case by case basis.

I'll also be installing some more plugins and extensions that will make things easier like posting pics and such, basically giving us more options and making things easier on us.

I got the easy part in this portion. I just upload the updated web pages and we get to test them out. Our web developer has to fix the things that don't work. ;-)

Thanks for a look behind the curtain.
I sure didn't, perhaps MANY of us don't, know about how many settings,
and unseen & unforgiving protocols must be aligned, just to make this Forum work.
Certainly beyond my pay grade, and I'm certainly glad you're up to the task.
Thank you.

Looking great.

Am I missing something, or is the old image/photo upload button gone when posting a reply? Thanks

Mike,
I think it's the third icon to the left of "Normal" above when you're replying.

Many thanks for your efforts. I think I have some small ideas about the kinds of challenges you are facing and I do not envy you. We are very much obliged.

Kind regards,
Martin
