Len Codella has passed
#1My/Our good friend Len Codella has passed as I just received news from his sweet wife and partner in life Carol. Len was a good man and so very generous with his time and willingness to share his knowledge and fishing stories. He was very honorable in his business dealings with me and others as well and will be missed by those of us who share his passion for cane rods. My condolences to Carol and his family.

#3Very sad news indeed. I spoke with Len a few weeks ago and his voice was very weak which gave me much concern. He was always passionate about cane rods, and was instrumental in their resurgence in the 80s. My sincere condolences to Carol.

#5RIP. Condolences to all.
Fifty years ago he ran Len Codella's Angler's Den in Linden, NJ, the next town over from where I grew up. The guys in our town knew Len's was the closest place with a decent fly tackle selection and service.

#7I’ll pour one out for you today Len. What a loss. I’ve a number of great rods that came from his catalog. And a number of memorable phone chats. Rest well Len - you brought a lot of good to a lot of lives.

#8This is sad news. Len was one of the "old school" good guys I relied on when I first became interested in bamboo rods thirty years ago. And what I paid for the tackle I bought from him never came close to compensating for all his help and kindness.
RIP, Len.

#9R.I.P. and condolences...
I fondly recall his helpful ways and shop in Linden, NJ where I purchased a used 8' 4 weight Winston, which I wish I still owned.

#15Very sad. Knew he had been ill, but had hoped he would recover quickly. Bought a number of items from him over the years, and was always pleased with the exchange. He will be missed. Condolences to Carol and the family.

#18Holly cow!
I had a phone call with him about two years ago, memories back when he was associated with T&T etc. He even went back to his very early boyhood trout fishing jaunts! Have done business with Mr. Codella since the early 80s.
Still have some fly fishing goodies from him. They will take a more prominent display area from now on in memory. No longer have any of his brochures, sadly.
Well, God Bless.

#20Rest to him, condolences to his wife and family. I purchased three fine rods from him that are at the very heart of my light trout collection, Howells, Duracane and TTT, all in 7’. I will fish them in his honor.
