I had only one opportunity to meet Mr. Sinclair several years ago. We met at a bamboo conclave in Califon, N.J. on the banks of the South Raritan. The event was sponsored by Shannon's Fly & Tackle Shop of the same town. He was a delight to meet and talk with. I true gentleman. I whish him a speedy recovery and strength for his wife. My best to them both.

This is such sad news. I've known Michael well for the last 20 years. He is responsible for me getting into bamboo in the first place. He's had one health problem after another since I've known him, but this is terrible. My prayers go out to both Michael and Shorty.

Being ill can feel so unfair, but I am thankful to know how many people here are thinking of both of them and sending healing thoughts their way.

Sad to hear about Michael. Hope he and his wife recover fully. Michael's wonderful Heddon book inspired me to start collecting and fishing bamboo rods. He has been very helpful over the years.

Just heard from Lourdes Hospital. Michel has been transferred back to the fourth floor out of CCU... he is going to need to be on reduced oxygen... he will need physical therapy... being on the ventilator leaves them pretty weak. then he may go to Baptist Hospital to a care unit for recovering Covid patients... if he doesn’t get approved for that he’ll be back at Parkview for a bit.

Hang in there Michael! My 77 YO sister and her 90 YO husband live pretty near you and they both came down with COVID...spent 10 days in the hospital each and pulled out of it with aggressive care.
