So, if you had your choice which one of these rods would you rather have?

Hidy 8’1” 2/2 5wt. New.

Gillum 7’6” 2/2 5wt. Excellent condition.

Wojnicki 8’1” 2/2 5wt. Excellent+ condition

Howells 8’ 2/2 6wt. Excellent+ condition

Depends on what you want. As a fishing tool, the Wojnicki. Is a piece to add to the collection, the Gillum.

I would take the Gillam...sell it and buy what I want with a bunch of change leftover.

Gillum for me. Both to fish and to admire.

I’d like to have the Hidy to fish Monday & Tuesday, the Wojnicki, to fish Wednesday & Thursday, and the Howell to fish Friday & Saturday.
I’d save the Gillum for Sunday.
If I had to, just had to, own just one, it would probably be the Gillum.

A nice choice to have to make - guess it depends on your temperament as all different actions - for me it would be the Wojnicki but thinking there is really no wrong choice.

Hidy…I'd feel better about fishing it. Plus, I love his rod making style!

Why would one buy a rod and not fish it? That makes zero sense to me.

For me, the fishing I do 90% of the time and my casting stroke, Gillum, hands down. Yes, I would fish it, carefully. Very Carefully.

If the Wojnicki has a fiberglass ferrule, I'd choose this route. My 240GF is as smooth a caster as it gets.

As A Gary Howells fan - his 8 for a six gets my vote as it was on of his most popular rods and tapers . It all depends on where you and what you are going to fish for with the rod.
