Howdy
Does anyone know if Heddon ever built an up-locking reel seat like the one you see on 1933-36'-38.
I'll post a photo or two.
Thank's
Thomas

P.S. I'm on the lookout for a Heddon model No. 60 and No.62 with the above reel-seat.

A No.60 or 65 was never made with that reel seat, unless someone special ordered one at some point in time. Heddon would make virtually anything someone wanted.

Mark I checked the catalogs you have posted here because I have seen a couple of these as well as I have one in the library. And there it was. :D
Although I haven't seen it on the model #65. They were cataloged as an option to the slide band for the model #60 starting in 1934 per the catalog.

I hope these help.

That's my 8-1/2' 2f in the middle, my favorite casting rod. I recently had the chance to compare it to a newer #35 8-1/2' 2f and was surprised that it felt distinctly different so I meaured the two side by side and found the #60 had a much thinner taper in the butt. It's a very sweet, smooth taper that maybe has a hinging effect between the absolute firm Walnut grip and the short taper down to the thinner butt. IMO the nicest 8-1/2' 6 weight I've cast.

Hey guys
I did have one of the No.60 with the up-lock walnut reel-seat that I'd picked up from Doug Daniels before I started collecting and restoring this era of Heddons.
I'd moved it down the line as the rod was just way too clunky for my tastes. It was a nine footer, with a 2 1/2 ferrule.
Thank's
Thomas

No worries Mark. I would have never known had it not been for your catalogs. So thanks brother just trying to add my two cents.
