#82Still strong at 72% current ownership after 163 votes!
I must admit that I have a soft spot for Orvis and have caught fish on a Mitey Mite, a Flea (now sold), a Rocky Mountain Fly & Spin (converted to pure fly), a 7' 3 3/8 oz (sold), a 7' Pack Rod, and my two "Battenkill birthday rods" a 7 1/2 3 7/8 oz (now sold) and an 8 1/2' 3/2 4 5/8 oz this year. Now if I can just manage to get out with my 6 1/2' Superfine Fly and Spin to catch something, I'll have made the Orvis Octet!

#83NewUtahCaneAngler,
Can you talk about your Mitey Mite? I have one. What a fun little rod. It is paired up with a small Hardy Lightweight, and it is a fine grayling rod. My #2 son has it right now, and I hope I can get it back.

#86Yes, I have 1 Fly Rod that’s perfect for Nor-Cal trout streams. It’s a 1991 6.5’ Flea that has “125” spec’s. The Reel Seat is highly figured New England Birds Eye Maple, Superfine grip, machined jewelry grade nickel silver hardware w/ embossed Orvis logo On the Cap & Ring reel seat. The rod doesn’t appear to have a blemish in the bamboo anywhere and is very light in color. Listed 88055 with a Leather Case, I think this one is unique and Like Greg has said , Capable, Spare and Elegant...

#87NoWhereMan, that is a nice looking Flea! I have a Madison version with the downlocking reel seat and believe that the added weight back there helps the rod balance with smaller/lighter reels.

#90I have an 8’6” Battenkill built in 1956, bought it because that is my birth year. A great rod and a bargain really.

#91I just remember that I have one additional Orvis rod. This one is a 9'0" bass version of "the Montague Rod Orvis impregnated". Assembled by Montague, but sold only by Orvis, I believe. The only shaft marking is: "Impregated Special"
I don't have a PhD, but I do have a DD214.

#94Yes, wood to impregnated, bait to fly, bass to salmon

#952, a 7' 2/3 6 wt Superfine that I purchased new in 1973 and a 7' 2/3 3 wt Seven Three that I obtained new in 1988 (old stock stuffed in the backroom of a store).
Both fish great and as expected with the line indicated although after over 45 years of use, the Superfine seems to work better with a 5.
A 125th Anniversary 8' 3/2 6 wt I bought from Orvis was a tip heavy pig (regardless of line size cast) and I sold it to a willing buyer from LA after fishing it a few times.
