Heddon's No. 17 Black Beauty was the company's most popular fly rod. Here is a grouping ranging from 7' to 9 1/2'.

Can you tell us what line weights these rods take?

Congrats.....that is a lovely collection. Heddon rod makers created a variety of superb cane fly and casting rods.

I like the fact that Heddon was daring enough to add bright orange tipping accents to the earlier BB rods. All 8 1/2' rods and up that I've seen were 3-piece rods. Did the offer rods in these lengths a 2-piece rods as well?

Beautiful rods, thanks for sharing. I think the orange tipping really makes that a beautiful rod. Cheers, Chris

The cataloged 2 piece rods were all 8 ft and under, although I have a seen 8’6 2 piece that was a special order.

I’ll add one to the mix, the first version, 1931 or 32. 9 ft 3/2, 5 oz, with a 2F ferrule.

Very nice. The 9-foot 2F is a great taper.

Awesome collection! The little town of Dowagiac Michigan created many beautiful rods, reels and tackle. Here is one more beauty I found in the back of my closet. It is an 8’ 6” #2 Ferrule. Unfished.

I own an 8-ft BB. It has serious throw. It's a rod you could fish with in Montana and have no trouble at all.
