This 8' Hardy CC de France was made in 1921. Aside from an overcoat of varnish, a repair to the grip and a little nick in the sliding band, it's in fine shape and ready for another century.

#5Lovely rod... and paired with that vintage Bougle, you have a magnificent outfit. Can you provide us with some more photos of the rod and the reel? Do you have the original rod bag and tube? What Check does you Bougle have and is it inscribed with the makers markings or initials?
Thanks for making my morning with your post.

#6Jim,
Here you go. The lettering on the reel seat is tarnished and pitted, making it pretty hard to read. One side says "Hardy Bros Ltd/Alnwick/England and the serial number, C15733. The other has the royal seal with the script reading "By Appointment." The reel seat holder says "Hardy Bros Universal Reel Holder."
The Bougle is a Duplicated MK II with Jimmy Smith's initials.
