Jeff, I am humbled by the kind words and yes, your rods feature strongly of course as the collection is ‘radical’ in some sense...plenty of single foot guides and no cork :rollin

Mark, you got over the quad fever but I haven’t buddy! I am not showing my glass & reels.. nor hide the fact I am still obsessed with cane ;)

Jhuskey, I was a bit shocked when I forced myself to update the ‘woodpile’ list after Paxlev revived this thread. Did I say I will ‘slow down’....?

Adam, great to know your ties with Singapore and rather tough questions that must be contemplated and enjoyed in another thread... and yes, do contact me when you visit Singapore and we shall hunt with the gang at the 10lb Club. 8)

Cheers,
Arthur

Arthur,
That amazing collection reminds me of the one collector Lang’s auction of January, 2004. Remarkable!!

Arthur

Your collection continues to be a source of awe. It is worth the 20 h plane ride to get a chance to cast/fish one of those rods.
I still have not earned the right to wear my 10 lb club patch but still trying.

Hope to see you this summer.

Ric, Jim & Jay. I am humbled by your kind words as I am inspired by your sharing here at the Forum.I will try to create a site in future like Lon to record details and tales of all these special rods.

Frank, lets have another go this summer and target the 13 pounders ;)

Cheers, Arthur

Arthur,
A very thoughtful but above all an awesome collection of bamboo! It would have been rude not to post an acknowledgement and thanks so much for sharing.
Tomvt, a great collection too, the journey is well underway!

Thanks Gentlemen. I hope to see more of your collections too!

Kenneth, it is good to be certified ‘officially bamboozled’. Hope to catch up with you soon.

Piglegs, if I am not mistaken, the Aroner Hunt was from you. Forgive my memory but that goes to show I built much of my collection from the wisdom & generosity here.

Friend Jeremy, you know enough ‘things’ about me you can safely share with your significant other...the rest we keep it hush in the ‘little forum time forgot’ (to quote a group sorely missed) including that 6’ Gillum :rollin

Cheers, Arthur

Here is my humble collection of Hardy's:

Marvel 7'6" 3/2 4wt - lovely smooth and Hardy's best all around 4wt trout rod (IMHO)
Deluxe 8' 3/2 4/5wt - much under rated fine tipped medium action from the 20's
Phantom 6'10" 2/1 5wt - powerful point and shoot rod (not exactly delicate)
Phantom 8' 2/1 5wt - best all around 5wt trout rod that Hardy made (IMHO)
JJH Triumph 8'9" 2/1 6wt - Nice powerful dry fly rod derived from a tournament taper

I have owned both 8' Hollolite and CC d'France rods that I sold when I was in my Granger phase but would like to add them to my arsenal again in the future.

raleypc1,
Nice collection of some of the better Hardy trout models. I totally agree with you opinion on your 8’ Phantom. My personal fav all arounder.

Great picture! Jim Hardy really got it right with Phantom series. I would like to try the 8'6" 6wt Phantom someday. I think it was Leonard Wright's rod of choice.

OK, here is my small collection of bamboo fly rods,
A 8' 3/2 Heddon #10 1 3/4 ferrule 6 wt
8' 3/2 Lyon and Coulson 201 1 3/4 ferrule 5wt
8 1/2' 3/1 South Bend 390 6 wt
7' 2/1 Dave Cottengim 4 wt
7 1/2' 2/2 Dave Cottengim 5wt
8' 2/2 Dave Cottengim 6wt
All of these rods get fished during the year and I plan on adding a light salmon bamboo at some point to fish the Finger Lake trips for landlocked salmon. Keeping with my "working class" collection maybe a 9' 2 1/2 ferrule Heddon black beauty. The reason I don't spend more on bamboo is to keep my seasonal rv site on the Beaverkill. Life is a series of compromises.
