Lon, great to see that you got Harry's 2 wt out as you said you would to bring him some positive energy in his recovery and show your respects for his great handiwork. .[/quote]

Amen! All the concern and support makes any burden a little lighter. Thanks to Lon and everyone else.

Very nice stuff, people. Really like that 783-2 Reams--a superb, ultra smooth rod.

I am not a collector but a fly angler so i am a bit cheating here - not quite three of a kind but sort of they are: 3 hardy reels with three UK bamboo rods.

I started a new topic called “Show us Your Signature Wraps”. I happened to have 3 in one photo, and then I saw this thread! Presto:

The sad news about Lew Parks prompted me to get these three lovely rods out for the first time in a while. They are, from the top, an 801610, an 8'3" four-piece parabolic and an 861711. Beautiful workmanship and action were the hallmark of Lew's rods.

Can't post photos here, but I'd add my three Schroeders, 7' 2/2, 7 1/2' 2/2, and 8' 3/2 with metal fully engraved.
Also have a four piece 8' Schroeder copy of the Leonard Adirondack.

Teter, I have always been under the impression that uplocking reel seats and "Western" style grips (hidden hood) were a relatively late = graphite thing. Yes, Granger Patented uplocking screw-in seat was around. These wonderful looking Gene Edwards Deluxes look ahead of their time. Awesome looking rods Sir!

Three Hardy rods with suitable Hardy reels: A 10' Palakona Salmon Deluxe from 1928 with a St. John reel marked with Jimmy Smith's initials; an 8'4" Continental Special circa 1970 (I think) with a Perfect, and a 7'6 Marvel from 1941 with a c. 1930s Bougle.

The Special has a staggered ferrule -- this is the extender ferrule plug.

The Marvel has not only the standard wooden ferrule plugs, but metal covers for the male ferrules. Pretty neat.
