Cortland 666?

#1

Post by samsonboi »

Hey there, I have a fly line that I *think* is a Cortland 666 and I love it. I couldn't find much mention of the 666 on Google. I know it's a Cortland 6 weight and think it's the 666. It is very slick and bright green- a DT. I would like to find another one somewhere.

Might it be an older '333'?

I really do think, based on memory of when I found it, that it's a 666. I guess it could be a 333.

When I worked for a competing company, we joked that Cortland had come out with the 666.
("twice as good as the 333").
Pretty sure it never happened.

I once traded my Gibson guitar for one of those lines down at the crossroads. I could fish like Hell after that!

Bright - mint green: 555 - Edit: Oops - sorry, that should be the 444SL. The 555s are blue as far as I know...
Dark green (almost British racing green): 333

Must be a 555. It's this bright, neon green.

I think it's brighter than the 555, actually.

I did see an advertisement a long time ago for the Cortland 666 It claimed "with this line the fish is already cooked when you pull it from the stream"
