Pennsylvania Maker

Post by PAGH »

Hello All,

Does anyone have knowledge of/fished with/opinions of bamboo rods made by a Harry Reinert?

I was unable to find any information on the internet and was hoping someone might be willing to share information if the maker is known to them.

Thank you,

PAGH

i have an 8 ft 2 pc. reinert, weighing 4 3/4 oz. with a winston style grip and down screwlock black plastic or possibly phenolic reelseat. it is a blonde rod, showing signs of heat straightening on some edges of the shaft. the male ferrules are shouldered, and the female ferrule is bright. the blackened guides have red wraps tipped green on butt and both tips, with open spiral red windings ahead of the large, cone-shaped grip check and below each tiptop. the single blackened mildrum style stripper is about 8mm. the only inscription on the rod is 'custom made for malcolm peebles by harry reinert, jacksonville ark'. no length, recommended line weight, date or serial # on it. the tips are fairly substantial, and it's at least a dt6 rod, possibly a 7, with a comfortable medium action.
