Classic Rods and Classic Flies

#1

Post by Dave Westburg »

Anyone else here like to fish classic wet flies along with bamboo. Here's a collection of classic flies and classic rods I fished this year.

A couple grangers 8642s and leadwing coachmen produced on this beaver pond in May

Brook trout for dinner on a June high lakes hike caught with a Phillipson 8'6" Power Pakt, a #14 Claret Bumble and a #14 Golden Olive Bumble.

A productive August day fishing Hare's ear wet flies with a Sharpes Eighty Eight on a spectacular Central Cascades High lake. A mountain goat was kicking rocks down on us as we fished.

September meant it was time to swing soft hackles flies with the Sharpes Eighty Eight on an eastern cascades river.

October gave me a chance to put a 9' Sharpes 6 weight to work swinging a mallard and claret, a woodcock and yellow and silver march brown for sea run cutthroat.
