#2Very nice. You have a lot more determination than I do. What weight and length?
Re: Built my first rod
#3It is a 7'6" 4 weight. I worked on it from November through April. Ended up buying a lot of tools and found the learning curve to be rewarding. I had a lot of help from a good friend/mentor. I still see shavings when I am trying to sleep! I plan to build a 3 weight next winter.

#5Looks like a beauty! How does it fish? When are you going into business? Jeff

#7Very cool. Looks great! I can only imagine how satisfying it must have been to make that first cast, land that first trout. Congratulations!

#8Nicely done. The first rod is always nerve racking, but each subsequent rod seems to come together a little easier. The moment to cherish is always the first fish on that first rod. Looks like you got that out of the way as well.

#11Jim,
You are right that was an important moment. It was a lot like catching a fish on the first fly I tied, only X10!
