It is a 7'6" 4 weight. I worked on it from November through April. Ended up buying a lot of tools and found the learning curve to be rewarding. I had a lot of help from a good friend/mentor. I still see shavings when I am trying to sleep! I plan to build a 3 weight next winter.

Very cool. Looks great! I can only imagine how satisfying it must have been to make that first cast, land that first trout. Congratulations!

Nicely done. The first rod is always nerve racking, but each subsequent rod seems to come together a little easier. The moment to cherish is always the first fish on that first rod. Looks like you got that out of the way as well.

You are right that was an important moment. It was a lot like catching a fish on the first fly I tied, only X10!
