Hi, I am also a big fan of Jenkins rods. There a lot of 7’,7’6”, 8’ Model Jenkins rods but I’ve often wondered how many custom rods Charlie and Steve built. I have two unusual Jenkins rods. One is a SB86-2, 8’6”, 2/2 with a swelled butt, half wells grip, cherry SB reel seat, lightly flamed cane and tung oil finish (Charlie’s dip tank could only accommodate 8’ rods). I like it with a 5wt line but it also handles a 6wt., perfect rod for western rivers. Steve told me his dad made 2 rods like this for a Denver sporting goods store owner. The other is rod also 8’6” with a swelled butt in a 3/2 configuration. It is very much like a Payne canoe rod. The original owner used it for land locks salmon. Casts a 7wt. Effortlessly.
Are there any other custom Jenkins rods out there?

Charlie and Steve made a few "Sans-Node" rods. Steve said they were good rods, but performed the same as their standard models.
