We've had beaucoup posts on our favorite flies, or "If you only had six flies to carry," etc. All interesting stuff. But what about Sept. and October favorites? What're your top, or favorite producers in the fall? Me? Letort Hopper in #14. St. Vrain Caddis with brown hackle (passes for a little hopper)#16. Trike spinner#24. Chucks Caddis Variant#14. Tiny bwo comparadun and parachute #24-26. Partridge and Orange soft hackle #12 (October caddis). Beetle-w-rubber legs #14. Pass Lake Steamer #12 or 10. Muddler Minnow #12. Hares Ear Soft Hackle #16. Adams (tradtional) #20-#16.

In North Carolina a #16 Parachute Adams, #16 Brown Elk Hair Caddis or #16 Pheasant Tail Nymph. Old dog, no new tricks.

Often, a #16 or 14 Ausable Wulff, or the Usual.

Mickey finn in brookie waters
October Caddis
Stewart Spiders
Iris Caddis, seems to work most of the year for me.
small hopper patterns until first frost.
Ants, beetles
