Tiny Water Stalkers - what to enjoy besides the Boo?

#621I love tiny water as well, but here in the deep South it’s about panfish and small bass. Good trout water is just a little too far to have as home water. Although, gotta say that I’ve caught bream (sunnies) that were just as beautiful as any brook trout and just as energetic. I Hope to retire some day into North Georgia for the blue lines there, because my heart still belongs to the diminutive brook trout.

#622It's been a great year so far. Here's a few from late last week. The trillium have faded but the may apples are blooming, along with the dogwood and many others. Fishing wasn't stellar, but it wasn't bad either. I had to leave before the evening action got cranking.

#627This has to be one of my favorite threads on this forum. I love small wild streams and brook trout - what's not to like, but the quality of the photos is outstanding. If there isn't one already perhaps a separate topic for photography. I'd like to take photos of this quality.
Around the steel no tortured worm shall toil.

#631This is my all time favorite thread, and I am thrilled when I see it back up on top of the list.
I feel like I should contribute, but alas, I do not fish much Bamboo, mostly Fiberglass.

#633I haven't done a lot of small stream fishing, but this thread has whet my appetite. Over the summer I bought a Kakuhiro 7'7" 3/2 #3 (a Japanese rod, which I discussed in this thread). I finally had a chance to get it on the water this week, and found a beautiful little stream with enough brookies to put the rod through its paces. I loved the way it fished, and I thoroughly enjoyed my afternoon hiking in the woods. I'll have to make it a habit more often. A few pics:

#639I now have the opportunity to add to this thread. Fished a new to me wild brook trout stream. My success was limited, but I feel the potential is there, and will be returning once the season ramps up a bit more. It certainly satisfied my desire for a hike in fishing destination.
No fish pictures, only a small handful were caught, and I am not much for taking pictures of fish, I would rather return them quickly.

#640That is sweet, not sure it matters how many fish you catch in places like that!Lupalupa wrote:I now have the opportunity to add to this thread. Fished a new to me wild brook trout stream.
