Anyone here do anodizing?

Post by drbaits »

I’ve been doing small-scale anodizing for a couple years with good success with most dyes. However, I tried using Caswell’s Black dye that worked okay last year, but wouldn’t do squat recently. Has anyone else had the experience of this dye going off? They send it out in solution and I made “fresh”, but appears dead now. Can’t find info on half-life. New batch on order, but would like to find something more dependable, hopefully in powder, not liquid...any input? BTW, RIT dye does/did work, but doesn’t give dark enough shade and apparently fades with time. Thanks in advance!
