Howdy all
I've heard it expressed on the forum that Granger/Phillipson used two shades of gold silk for the Premier, Deluxe and Favorite.
Thought I'd share a photo of a spool of the Rice's No.104 gold, alongside the of wraps off the rod, and the rod wraps themselves. The second photo set are from a 8040 'Premier'.
What I found out some time ago was that the difference that creates the hue contrast was the varnish that was used on the rods previously mentioned.
Hope this clears up any confusion.
Stay smart, stay safe.
