Orvis foil tube labels

#1

Post by Trout120-1 »

I contacted Orvis with no luck. The label on the edges on one of my tubes is cracked and peeling off. Does anyone know where I can get a replacement?
Thanks

Why not just cover it with some shrink tubing?

The Orvis Rod Shop used to offer replacement green foil tube labels, but that ended quite awhile ago.

Shrink won't work. It's too messed up.

Charlie Hisey had some blue and sliver foil labels made around 2010 or so. He had about 20 or 25 made. I got one of them for a rod of mine and then they were all gone. Orvis did not like the price it cost.

I just received a replacement tube with a silver and blue foil label for a tubeless 1950s Battenkill 8’ 3/2 I sent to the Orvis shop for repairs a couple months ago. That’s not period correct, but it suggests they either found another stash or made a new batch. Unfortunately the tube has a black crinkle finish that makes it hard to adhere. One corner is already peeling. Tube diameter is also much larger — probably intended for a 4-piece rod.
