According to Sinclair’s Heddon book, the Bill Vogt model was a Heddon trade rod sold through Terni’s in Millerton, NY.
Terni’s is still around and has great history in Millerton (http://www.mainstreetmag.com/ternis-def ... n-america/)
But who was Bill Vogt? From what I can find online he was a trick caster, who could cut a cigarette in half at 75ft.
Anyone have any additional information, or want to research it? Maybe Cwfly will do his magic again and dig something up.

#3Thanks Charlie, fascinating article. I see he published a book on bait casting as well.

#5I wonder if the Payne made Bill Vogt was sold through Terni’s as well? Maybe there’s a Terni’s catalog or advertisement out there somewhere with models/prices listed.

Re: Who was Bill Vogt?
#6Well whadiya know, I was shuffling through my catalogs and found a reference to Terni’s in the 1948 Ray Bergman catalog. Art Terni, Millerton NY, special representative, listed as having a full line of R.B. Products.
I imagine the rods were Dickersons and probably marked as Bergmans, if anything.
Anyway, keep looking, I would love to find reference to the Bill Vogt Paynes or Heddons.
