Hello, all.
I recently acquired a lovely rod, a Dennis Stone Dickerson 8012, built out by Mr. Margiotta. The thread and varnish work is superb, as is the rest of his workmanship.
I see that he is no longer active here as Eastbranch and am curious if anybody knows of his status in the World of rodbuilding. Thank you,
Kean

#2Hi Kean:
I had taken a hiatus from rod assembly and restorations but I've recently jumped back in. I've been active on the Board under "Eastprong" all this time.

#3Rich is very humble....I think he is one of the most knowledgeable and best rod finishers out there! Glad you are back at it.

#4Munsey is absolutely right. Rich is a wealth of knowledge for threads, color preserving, and finishing.

#10I have a Dennis Stone rod built on the Divine Fairy taper, and finished out by Rich. The finishing details are terrific, and it’s become one of my favorite rods. It names the builders on the hang tag, but I took the liberty of writing “Stone/Margiotta 7’6” 4 wt.” on the blank and put some varnish over it.
