I agree.
I have a PHY Midge clone by Mark and it's a wonderful rod.
Great cane work.

Mark is from Michigan, if you need to find him - he currently has a blank on ebay.

Very good quality rod maker and very well priced rods & blanks.  I have a Fitch built Perfection that is a great handling rod, also have a Martha Marie blank by Fitch and finished by a local builder as well as a blank of his proprietary taper, Purist I think it is called, which was put together by someone else before I bought it.  As with a lot of Michigan rodmakers he seems to favor PHY tapers.
If you check his feedback on the auction site you will see he is well respected.
I think his rods are underpriced for what you are getting from a real craftsman.

Mark is a long time friend, who has about 300+  blanks and rods to his credit.
He is a hand planer with an uncompomising eye and talent.
He was recently paid a nice compliment by Ron Barch, editor/publisher of the planing form, recognising Marks' skill in wrapping and finishing rods.
I have had a number of Mark's rods in tapers by PHY, Dickerson, FET, Garrison, Pezon et Michel, Payne and his own tapers. If this makes me a fan of his work, I am happy to be  included with that group.

If anyone reading this wants more information about Mark and his rods, please contact me and I will see that he gets the message.

My buddy , Russ , just pickd up one of Mark Fitch rod's from Peter.  It is a Perfectioist clone and an extremely well crafted rod.  His fit and finish is fantastic and it casts like a dream.
