Dean Jones Penta taper

The exchange of tapers forum is for classic and personally developed tapers. The definition of classic tapers are those tapers that were developed by rodmakers that are no longer alive. Please understand that rod makers who have developed their tapers, and are active in the community, should not have their tapers cloned, or shared, without their permission, please refrain for asking for those tapers as it infringes on the maker.

I’m not sure I can help you much but I know of the Hughes rod of which you speak. Although I do not have the taper, I do know who obtained at least some of Dean’s rod building equipment. Whether he has Dean’s tapers or not I do not know. If you PM me I can provide his contact information.

If you had access to Dave’s rod you could always measure it. Because of the penta geometries you would have to have a 108 degree “V” block to measure the rod. If you you do not have one I would gladly loan you mine.

Thank you, Marty. I kind of figure this might be a shot in the dark.
