Re: First Era Granger Tapers?
#31st Era Granger Special 9043
9 ft, 3/2, 4.8 oz
This taper was measured starting at the tip, at one inch increments for the first 25 inches, then 5 inch increments. No addition was made for varnish, which is spotty, and varies from thin to medium. There was a lot of variation around the flats, so I took an average.

#6Kudos!
Thanks for taking the time to do this.
So, how crazy did it make you to check, re-check, and average your readings? It's no small task if your not familiar with it.

Re: First Era Granger Tapers?
#7It was frustrating! And, as I mentioned, the varnish is rough and spotty, so the measurements varied. If I were to do this again, I would probably get slightly different results. I’m not a rod builder so I’m not sure how useful information off of roughly varnished rods is, but I suppose it’s gives a general idea of the taper.Adamsdry wrote:Kudos!
