6wt with similar action to Payne 101

The exchange of tapers forum is for classic and personally developed tapers. The definition of classic tapers are those tapers that were developed by rodmakers that are no longer alive. Please understand that rod makers who have developed their tapers, and are active in the community, should not have their tapers cloned, or shared, without their permission, please refrain for asking for those tapers as it infringes on the maker.

6wt with similar action to Payne 101

Hi All,

I’m about to start a couple 6WTs for friends who are new to bamboo. I’m also working on a Payne 101 for another friend in a similar situation. I picked the 101 because it is a faster action rod (RodDNA says it’s more similar to graphite in feel).

Is there an existing taper in the 6wt range that has a similar feel? I was looking at the Dickerson 8015 someone also said Gillum has a couple 6wt tapers that are “beefy”. I could also scale up the 101 to a 6wt using RodDNA.

Cheers,

Stephen

Hi Guys, A Dickerson 8014Guide should fit the bill.
