Here’s a few examples showing variations of his signature. Interesting how at one time his K came down angled to the ascender and then made a straight line downward before going down on an angle.

Re: Dickerson 961812
#22Many thanks Marc! It would be awesome if we could see the evolution of Mr Dickerson’s script over the years as I have seen some rods that have very disjointed and large script. Did his writing become larger, more ‘uncontrolled’ as he aged? And how do they look?Mainiac wrote:Here we go. A 761510 from the same era as the 961812. The 761510 was a rod I owned. It was refinished but I saw it beforehand and it was 100% original but had bad varnish melt to the point where the bag had to be cut off around it. Compare the two please.

#23F.N.Blazic 1941(1947?).... In the area in Europe where I live many people's surname is Blazic.. Interesting! Maybe the rod was made for him(her) or was remade by Mr.(Mrs)Blazic..?!

#24For comparison purposes, there's another Dickerson 961812 listed in the current Lang's auction catalog.

#25Arthur, I will start a new thread in the next few days about Dickersons writing and signature with photos and maybe post a few things never before seen.
Re: Dickerson 961812
#26Many thanks Marc. That is indeed the correct way.
Back to the thread. Looks to me the script on this Dickerson is authentic. I wonder how is the casting action

#27Hi Marc, the couple of Dickerson's I owned from the 40's had signatures that were a virtual dead ringer to your exhibit and close to this rod from the OP.
For those with an interest in seeing a further comparison of Dickerson signatures on rods easily, you can have a look at rwsummers.com - Bob's site - where his 25 listings of Dickerson's for sale and sold all have signature's highlighted in photos. Also Vintageflytackle archives show a good number of signatures up close and several other sites which I mentioned recently with Dickerson's for sale.
