I.D. Help - W.M. "Bill" Taylor rod

This is the board to ask about the identity, or for an appraisal, of a rod. Please use the outline as explained on the board. If there is a makers name, list that in the subject line. Make sure you include the length, number of sections, any identifying markings and the general condition. Adding photographs is always helpful!

I.D. Help - W.M. "Bill" Taylor rod

Post by FreestoneVintage »

Howdy all,

This rod recently came across my desk. Not a very fancy rod, and the hardware is inexpensive and beat up. It appears to have been run through a binder with silk thread before being wrapped and varnished. "Bill Taylor" on the rod, the bag reads:

W.M. "Bill" Taylor - Royal Table Pad Com - Los Angeles, Calif.

It's an 8'6" 3/2, though one tip is about a half inch longer at the tip top *and* the ferrule.

I'm curious if anyone knows the name on the bag, or has ever seen one of these.

Any ideas?

Nate
