Old national Geographic article on bamboo

or however that dang word is written! : ) Use this forum to discuss those things that are related to, directly, or indirectly, fly fishing, i.e., tackle, catalogs, single malt scotch, cigar preferences, pipes, camera gear, etc. This is sort of an off topic area but one related to bamboo and fly fishing.

Old national Geographic article on bamboo

#1

Post by DonT »

Someone at work dumped a bunch of old National Geographics in our break area and the cover of one caught my eye as I walked by. It's the October 1980 issue with an article titled :"Bamboo- The Giant Grass". I've clipped in a few pictures of the cover, Hoagy Carmichael at his workbench and an impressive bamboo scaffolding picture from Hong Kong. I have a PDF of the two pages with Hoagy if anyone is interested. Its a quite interesting article with a explanation of basic science of bamboo and it's many uses.

Just to be clear, I don't have the whole article in PDF form but let me work on that. It'll take a few days.
