Is Gierach now fishing graphite?

or however that dang word is written! : ) Use this forum to discuss those things that are related to, directly, or indirectly, fly fishing, i.e., tackle, catalogs, single malt scotch, cigar preferences, pipes, camera gear, etc. This is sort of an off topic area but one related to bamboo and fly fishing.

Nick - I vaguely remember that exact bit.. very funny stuff.

" O.. one of the funnier skits I saw one time was a comedian who could really do a good Dylan calling in a phone order for a pepperoni, sausage, green pepper and onion pizza. Picture it in your mind. Hilarious. Loved Dylan and had to when you lived in MN. "

In other news :

it's OFFICIAL - John Gierach just took over top spot from Chuck Norris.
All the tabloids are saying so... I just looked.
" There's no such thing as a fly fisherman wholly satisfied with his casting performance. " ~ Jim Green (1971)

Every material has its use. On Thursday I will spend the entire day into night on the Delaware and I'm bringing 2 graphite rods. Firstly, heavy nymphing is better with graphite and you don't run the risk of breaking your bamboo, and secondly I definitely don't want to be fatigued in the dark, waist deep with bamboo. Is it possible to use bamboo? Sure. Afterall, Andy Dufresne tunneled out of Shawshawnk with a rock hammer. Only took him 20 years.
