What's the deal with super old topics (years) showing up recently ?

people search for a topic here or on google and add to it not realizing that it is an old topic.

Or, there were inaccuracies in those older threads, and people (yes I'm guilty) are updating them to get the current facts/findings out, so that people presently searching or searching in the future are not misled or misinformed

Many of us who've been here for awhile are at the age that anything we post is an old subject (at least to us)!
