What else do you collect?
#1For some reason (probably winter boredom), I decided to make a list of everything I have collected during the last 30 odd years.
Fishing Collections:
Greenheart fly rods
Bamboo spinning rods
Airex items
Fly line tins
Skeleton reels
Nottingham reels
Ted Williams fly and spinning equipment
Bradco bullet reels
Quilby and Actual lures
Early spinning reels
Casting weights
Non-fishing Collections:
Woodworking tools
Native American artifacts and art
Antique Winchester rifles
Custom knives
Clocks
Pocket watches
Space artifacts
Maps, globes and documents
Illuminated manuscript leaves
Rocks, minerals, and fossils
Scientific instruments
Antiquarian books
Paperweights, bookends and office items
Antique phonographs
I don't know if I have a problem, but I might. Anyone else want to fess up?

#3My tastes are probably too eclectic to say I “collect” any one thing. Take my rod collection, for instance, which is all over the place and attuned to my needs and enjoyment. But when my daughter visits, she’s been heard to exclaim, “Jeez Dad, you live in a GD museum!” The “museum” is heavily weighted to Native American and Central American art and artifacts: pots, masks, baskets, images, 50+ kachinas, rugs and Inuit carvings. Plus an interesting amalgamation of spirit figures from a tribal group in Mexico and some items from the Amazon. All with a story, none very well displayed. Makes the place lively and unusual.

#4I collect flies tied by noted tyers, with a signature card if I can get it, and Native American Kachinas!

#5Interesting that a Native American commonality seems to be emerging…

#6No pictures? C'mon, show the stuff--or, as the saying goes, it didn't happen and doesn't exist.

#7I "collect" a lot of stuff but nothing in particular; I refer to myself as a Professional Accumulator.
I spent most of my money on shotguns, fly rods, guitars and banjos. The rest I just wasted. (Apologies to W.C. Fields)

#11I collect post cards from Ruffed Grouse. Mostly in the form of feathers and poo on my truck.
I have fishing reels sprinkled throughout the house which my wife loves. I also have some native american artifacts which I found as a kid.
I collect some old and new mining mineral specimens.

I spend as much time as possible on Lake Superior beaches so I have some agates, thompsonite and prehnite around the house.

Living in Michigan contractually obligates you to have some Petoskey Stone.

These don't really count since I'll leave them when I sell the house but when we dug the foundation for the new garage we came across the old trash pit including some interesting bottles from the early 1900's.

#17A few custom recurves and quite a few longbows. If you tear your rotator cuff however you find it pretty easy to end up with none and waiting on a new lighter weight 36 lb. longbow in order to shoot 3d competitions (or to shoot anything else for that matter).

#20Admittedly, I've been a "collector" since childhood. Besides collecting lots of fly fishing tackle and memorabilia associated with ongoing discussions here on this Forum, I also collect:
* Classic sports cars-full size and die cast models
* Arts & Crafts ('Mission') era furniture, lighting, pottery, art, metal ware and books.
* Frederic Remington repro bronzes
* SxS shotguns
* Lots of books on fly fishing, classic cars, bird hunting and railroads.
* Narrow gauge model railroading items.
* Mason duck decoys
* Sporting art
* California plein air paintings
* Specialty magazines too
Collecting...it's indeed a disease for which there is no cure!
