Snook Awesomeness

or however that dang word is written! : ) Use this forum to discuss those things that are related to, directly, or indirectly, fly fishing, i.e., tackle, catalogs, single malt scotch, cigar preferences, pipes, camera gear, etc. This is sort of an off topic area but one related to bamboo and fly fishing.

Snook Awesomeness

Thought you guys might enjoy looking at the snook that took me for a ride in my kayak! He dragged me right into a mangrove, no way to stop him. Hooked him on a Sage Maverick 7wt, and the famous Schminnow fly. The cast was into a corner mangrove with a drop off, into some current, the hit has impressive and violent, old linesider sure has some shoulders!

Fantastic looking fish Loogie, well done. I have never been in snook waters, but similarly enjoy the ferocity of predator species strikes and the techniques to fish for them. An extra reward to have taken this one out of your kayak. Lots more ahead to you!

Very good job and pics. If I ever got to fish the salt the three fish I'd most like fish for are redfish, snook, and baby (<20) tarpon.

Me too!

I love fishing for stuff in and around mangroves, never know what will grab your fly.
